John Hall
The founder of Detail4Retail in 2009, John has over 20 years’ experience working in the retail supply chain, predominantly in commercial and project roles within UK retail multiples. He has a strong trading background, both in buying and category management, and in cost optimisation and trading performance improvement throughout the grocery sector. He has also managed Grey Market buying and eProcurement operations in the retail sector.
In addition, John is an experienced project and programme manager in the retail supply chain, having managed supply base optimisation projects, revenue workstreams and Business-to-Business initiatives. He recently chaired a committee of major retailers and suppliers in creating an industry approach to Data Quality Management as part of a move towards Global Data Synchronisation in the UK.
John is married with two young children, lives in Hampshire, and is something of a [now mainly armchair] sport-aholic.
Nick Basire
Nick has 25 years experience of devising and managing operational cost reduction projects in Textiles, Food Processing, Logistics and Retail. Nick has a considerable experience of international projects having worked in France, Holland, Belgium, Spain and the USA. Further to this Nick has managed a number of strategic sourcing projects in fresh food and has recently completed a significant head office relocation project for a major UK retailer.
Nick lives in a small village in Hampshire and when not spending time with his family likes to go fly fishing.
